WHO'S WHO
Many thanks to the designers, chefs, musicians, craftsmen, artists, and friends who will come together to make this an unforgettable weekend. Below are a handful of our key participants. Do check back as we continue to add exceptional programming and personalities to our lineup.
Building a national Memorial Monument to America's greatest war hero horse, Sgt. Reckless, who LIFE Magazine lists as one of our all time greatest heroes! Memorial dedication date is Friday, July 26, 2013 at the National Museum of the Marine Corps .
The Jefferson Cup Invitational does not award golds, silvers and the like. Rather, the invited wines have all proven their excellence in competitions and tastings throughout the last year. We seek to publicize our belief that these are wines that are extremely deserving of the nation’s attention.
Join us for a delicious lunch!
A jazz chanteuse by trade, California native Karyna Micaela earned her songwriting stripes in Texas, where she frequently finds herself as "one of the guys" - whether in the studio, on stage or just hanging out. Since 2014, she's become a strong front woman for her band, Karyna Micaela & The Guys, keeping audiences swaying to their unique brand of soulful jazz-pop.
“The recipe we came up with uses Ukrainian wheat from the best wheat region in the world and water from a local aquifer. It’s a traditional Russian recipe with a lot of contemporary technology and is distilled 15 times,” Grayfer said. “The taste is phenomenal.” They chose the name Kruto because, in Russian, it means “cool,” or the latest fashion.
Papel picado ("perforated paper") is a decorative craft made out of paper cut into elaborate designs. It is considered a Mexican folk art. The designs are commonly cut from tissue paper using a guide and small chisels, creating as many as forty banners at a time. Papel picado can also be made by folding tissue paper and using small, sharp scissors. Common themes include birds, floral designs, and skeletons.
Did someone say whiskey? Check our cool sign!
Will will have a rose pickup Saturday.
We will have a fashion show Sunday.
We are a union of singer/songwriters, studio and performance musicians, with a combined 5,362 years of experience. Almost.
The story of Reckless is not only remarkable - it is unusual. And once you learn about her, you will see why the Marine Corps not only fell in love with her - but honored her and promoted her every chance they got. And it wasn’t just the Marines that served with her in the trenches that honored her - her last promotion to Staff Sergeant was by Gen. Randolph McC Pate - the Commandant of the entire Marine Corps. You can’t get higher than that in the Marines.
Think you've seen fun? Wait until you see our tee-pee!
Artist talk by sculptor of Sgt. Reckless sculpture on Friday
Annie’s is a boutique-style custom bakery, where exquisite works of edible art are created every day. We hire the best bakers and decorators and use only the finest fresh ingredients to insure that our cakes not only look amazing, but taste great as well. Additionally, Annie personally works with each wedding client from the initial consultation through cake delivery. We serve brides throughout the DFW metroplex. We happily consider working with brides from other areas as well.
Coffee bar Saturday.
Join us for the best tasting champagne and cake you've ever had from our local vendors.
At Red Caboose Winery we start with quality from the ground up. Using certified grafted grapevines, we plant our vines with fine wine in mind. We believe excellent wines start with quality grapes because we “grow wine." The result of 10 years of careful vineyard and winery practises is evidenced by a long line of medals on display in the tasting room. Perhaps most significant to Gary is the Jefferson Cup award in 2011 for their 2009 Tempranillo/Cabernet Sauvignon.
Since the year 2000, handcrafted leather boots have been Ernie Tarut ("the Old Gringo") and Yan Ferry's passion. The result of this collaboration combined Ernie Tarut's 30 years of leather manufacturing experience and Yan Ferry's 30 years of European design and boot making mastery under one roof creating footwear of superior and unique style and quality. It is from this passion that Old Gringo pushes the traditional western envelope with artisan handcrafted boots and outer wear.
We will have a raffle Friday. Tickets are $25 per ticket or $100 for 5 tickets.
